If you’re using MEGAVISION or planning to do so, there’s a feature you should know about – trigger links. These links can help you build more efficient marketing automation in MEGAVISION.
In this article, I’ll show you what trigger links are and how you can use them effectively in different communication channels, workflows, and campaigns.
Trigger links look like regular links but serve a unique function in MEGAVISION.
These links do more than redirect your lead or customer to a specific page. They record your contact’s activity within MEGAVISION so you can see whether they’ve clicked the link.
Using trigger links allows you to monitor when and how often the links are clicked. You can also use them to activate automated actions within your marketing workflows.
These links are mainly for text and email messages. You can embed trigger links in your SMS or email campaigns to direct recipients to various pages, such as a landing page for a new product, a sign-up sheet for a webinar, or a confirmation page for a newsletter subscription.
You can also use trigger links inside your workflow by setting up unsubscribe links for your communication channels, including SMS, Facebook, Instagram, and Google My Business.
I’ll show you how to use a trigger link effectively in a later section.
There are two ways you can access and create your trigger links.
First, you can go to the “Conversations” tab inside your sub-account, then select “Links” under “Trigger Links.”
Another one is to go to the “Marketing” tab. Hover to “Trigger Links” and click “Links.”
Either way, you’ll be brought to the same dashboard where you can select “Add Link.”
Type in the name and the link to which you’d wish your leads or customers to be directed. Click “Save.”
MEGAVISION allows you to add and send links to a particular contact manually.
You can go to the “Conversations” tab, “All,” and choose whom to message.
Type your message and click the “+” icon at the bottom. Click “Trigger Links” and select the link you want to add.
Another way is to go to the “Contacts” tab. This is the better option if it’s your first time sending a message to that lead or you want to send your trigger link to multiple people.
Just tick the contacts checkbox, then click the SMS or email icon.
Press “OK, proceed.”
Type in your message and fill in the necessary fields. Then, select a trigger link from your list.
Once you’re good, click “Send Email” or “Send SMS.”
To check whether your contact has clicked the trigger link, go to the “Contacts” tab. Select one recipient, and click “Activity” in the third column. Here, you’ll see all the actions taken by your contact.
Meanwhile, to access the clicks’ time and frequency, you can go to “Analyze” under “Trigger Links.” It’s located inside the “Marketing” or “Conversations” tab.
First, you have to create a template. Go to the “Marketing” tab and select “Templates (Snippets.)”
Click the “+Add Template (Snippet)” button and choose whether it’s a text or email template. You can do both, but not at the same time. For this example, let’s go for the text.
Type in your message, then select your desired trigger link. Test it first to confirm it works on your customer’s or lead’s end.
After that, click “Save.”
The campaign template for emails looks similar to the text one. But this time, you can hyperlink your trigger link so it looks neater.
Click the “Insert/edit link.”
Then, type in your trigger link under the URL or select it from your “Link List.”
Don’t forget to test the email and save it.
Now, let’s add a trigger link to your workflow.
Click the “Automations” tab inside your sub-account dashboard. Select “+Create Workflow.”
Choose a template that uses SMS or email, or start from scratch. For this example, let’s pick the “Recipe: No-Show Nurture.”
Next, select “SMS” if it’s in your template. Or, hit the “+” icon and choose “send email” or “send SMS.”
Write your message and pick the trigger link you want to use. You can test it to see if it works or just hit “Save Action” to finish.
Next, select “SMS” if it’s in your template. Or, hit the “+” icon and choose “send email” or “send SMS.”
The “wait” step inside the workflow allows you to delay the following action and wait for your contact to click the trigger link. It’s a great tool to ensure your messages are timed just right.
Imagine you send an email with a link for a special offer. A “wait” step holds your workflow until your lead opens and interacts with the link.
Using this approach, you can perfectly time the next move, such as sending a follow-up email, to occur just as your lead demonstrates interest.
Here’s how to set it up:
Click the “+” icon in your workflow and choose “Wait.”
Under “Wait For,” pick “Trigger Link Clicked.” Then, select the link you’re using. Leave the timeout blank here. Hit “Save Action.”
You can also use unsubscribe links in MEGAVISION to let your leads or contacts opt out of communications like SMS, email, Facebook, and Instagram.
Here’s a simple way to set up these links:
Use the earlier instructions to create trigger links. Make sure the URL leads to your unsubscribe web page. You’ll want an unsubscribe trigger link for each channel you use, like GMB, Facebook, email, and SMS.
Start by adding all your unsubscribe trigger links as triggers in your workflow.
Then, set up “If/Else” conditions for each channel.
Let’s say you’re working on the email channel. Ask, “Email trigger link clicked?” If yes, the system starts the unsubscribe process. If not, then create a new step to the next channel, like SMS or Facebook.
To save time, you can copy actions from one unsubscribe trigger link to another. Click the ellipsis, choose “Copy,” then “Copy All Actions From Here.” Don’t forget to change the channel name in each step.
Use an “Enable/Disable DND” action for those who click yes. Choose “Enable DND for Specific Channels” and specify which channel (email, SMS, etc.) it relates to.
Always remember to click “Save.” Then, give your workflow a quick test and refresh to ensure everything works smoothly.
You’ve just learned about trigger links in MEGAVISION.
From setting up a trigger link in emails and SMS to creating workflows and unsubscribe options, you’re ready to enhance how you connect with your audience.
